This post is not being written by Suzanne, but by her husband, Charles.
Typically Suzanne only posts to Suzanne’s Cottage Monday through Friday, so consider today’s post a bonus episode, compliments of her husband. I hijacked her website, so she has no idea this post will appear. In fact, you may read this before she does. I hope it is a surprise to her (a pleasant surprise, not a shocking surprise).
I just wanted to let everyone know that today is our 45th Wedding Anniversary. She insists it’s 145.
We have been blessed beyond words. It seems like it was only yesterday, but a whole lifetime has passed, and we are amazed at how quickly it has happened.
A lifetime of pleasure, pain, joy, sorrow, boredom, thrills, wins, losses, strife, victory, we have seen it all, and by God’s grace, we have persevered.
To this day, I vividly remember these words,
Do you, Charles, take Suzanne to be your wife, to have and to hold, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, ’til death do you part?”
I do, and I did. Not always well, but we have survived in spite of me. And I’d do it all over again, but hopefully better than I did this time around. (Here is the 44 Year Anniversary on my webpage)
Through the Years
Here are a few photos of us over the years.
I just noticed that even these photos are old, they’re 20-25 years old. I guess the older your get, the fewer photos you take. We must have lived most of our lives before selfies were invented.
