Our home is located on a pond. It was an old mill pond created back in the 1850’s for a local saw mill. A granite dam was built a mile downstream, flooding an 85-acre meadow. As if that wasn’t enough, our backyard garden has a frog pond and our front yard garden has a koi pond.

Since our local Great Blue Heron population loves to dine on koi, we don’t bother putting fish in it anymore.
